Targeting Innovation is delighted to announce that our chief executive, George Boag, will be speaking at The Fourth European Conference on Management of Technology - "Closing the Innovation Gap: Theory and Practice".
The event is hosted by the University of West of Scotland on September 6th-8th at the RadissonSAS Glasgow.
The conference features other keynotes from Arthur D Little and Smith & McLaurin. Furthermore, there is a conference dinner at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (Monday evening) and a farewell dinner (Tuesday evening).
The theme of the conference - Innovation Management: Theory and Practice - brings together academic approaches and practitioners' views on innovation management to stimulate the exchange of ideas and experiences. This is particularly relevant on the second day where the format will encourage the debate about innovation management.
The conference will explore the definition of innovation and also examine how Scotland performs within:
The innovation gap has become the focus of many governments through the stimulation of National Innovation Systems, a range of incentives for innovation in companies and the improvement of the innovative capability of companies. This gap has a high priority on the agenda of the Scottish government and the initiative for the conference aligns with national programmes and offers an additional dimension, particularly the Scottish Innovation Award. The conference will cover many aspects of innovation and technology management, bringing practitioners, academics and policy-makers up-to-date. In addition, the conference aims at creating a meeting point for companies, and academic institutions, inspiring participants to increase the innovative capabilities of companies and to provide fertile ground for collaboration for all.
