06/11/2008

We are delighted to announce that Targeting Innovation has been successful in winning 2 contracts from public sector organisation Scottish Enterprise.

The first of these is the Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences sector support contract Scotland's life sciences community will receive a boost with the launch of a new specialised support service designed to grow the sector.

We will deliver the service under the Life Sciences Scotland banner on behalf of Scottish Enterprise (SE) and work with all areas of the industry including the medtech, biotech, pharmaceutical and specialist service sub-sectors.

This expert service will act as a single point of access for support for the sector and provide SE and the community with sector specific data necessary to inform and drive growth.

In addition to this, we have also been successful in winning a further contract with Scottish Enterprise to develop collaborative linkages in the South of Scotland. The project as part of the wider South of Scotland Innovation System Initiative will target small businesses from the Borders, and Dumfries and Galloway to collaborate with other businesses and the knowledge base to develop new technologies, products and services.

Chief executive George Boag, said: "We are delighted to have won these contracts which recognise our expertise in assisting organisations in growing their business, commercialising their knowledge, maximising technology and forming productive links with other enterprises.

"As befits the Scottish life sciences community, our approach will be highly collegiate. We will seek to work closely with the range of organisations active in this field to encourage the most constructive use of the vast range of skills and knowledge which exists within this sector.

"We are confident of building on SE's and Scottish Development International's activities under the ‘Life Sciences Scotland' banner and are very much looking forward to using our considerable experience and energies to address barriers to growth and promote further development of the sector."
