Winning Through Innovation is a series of events with a compelling programme of motivational speakers drawn from exemplar companies and leading management theorists as well as examples of Scottish success stories where innovation has made a difference to local companies.
The emphasis is on raising awareness of the importance of innovation in its widest sense within your business, illustrating the need for and the benefits of successful innovation to business and inspiring the desire to act.
As well as being informative and providing encouragement, the event brings together key public sector support organisations involved in Innovation to enable and assist companies and individuals to pursue the development of innovative new products, processes and services at whatever stage of the development they find themselves.
Speakers include Doug Richard, who appeared in the first and second series of Dragons' Den. Doug is a successful entrepreneur with 20 years' experience in the development and leadership of technology and software ventures. He is an Honorary Recipient of The Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion and a fellow of the RSA.
We are also pleased to have Colin Burns, a collaborative designer, innovator and educator with us for this event. Colin spent 10 years of his career working at IDEO - the international design consultancy, famous for its user-centred, interdisciplinary approach.
He now works as an independent creative consultant through his one-man agency, martach, and a network of associates. His work focuses on the use of Design Methods to provide client organisations with strategic Design, Innovation and Transformation consultancy and training.
Hosting the event is John Anderson, a well known specialist in entrepreneurship and new venture creation in Scotland. John brings considerable experience of emerging and high growth companies to his role as Chief Executive of The Entrepreneurial Exchange and is a regular contributor to the media on issues facing emerging and high growth companies.
