Targeting Innovation

In September 2008 Scottish Enterprise (SE) awarded Targeting Innovation Ltd (TIL) the Life Sciences Sector Support Contract. 

Objective: 

The project objective is to provide a single point of access in support of the existing work of SE and Scottish Development International (SDI) and will cover the key sub-segments of the sector: MedTech, biotech, pharma and specialist CRO / suppliers creating a one-stop shop for life sciences to encourage a more comprehensive collaborative approach for support.  

Milestones:

This three year contract will be delivered in line with annual
milestones, which include:

• Sector Specific Knowledge - Targeting Innovation Ltd will establish, manage and run a responsive enquiry system to make it easier, quicker and better to do business in Scotland.  This system will be incorporated onto the current Life Sciences Scotland website and provide a tool for project managers in SE, SDI and by the wider life sciences community.
• Sector Specific Data Collection - TIL will establish system to monitor, track and report on trends and activities and market intelligence generally and sub-sector specific activities including products on the market, R&D / export / manufacture activities and Scotland wide business issues such as investment, business confidence.  These reports will be available to SE and SDI to inform strategy and to keep abreast of sector movements.
• Specialist Fora - TIL will run a series of specialised national fora in response to industry demand to facilitate sharing of best practice and reporting of sectoral requirements.  Fora groups will include sub sector specific groups such as medtech and biotech as well as general business requirements such as HR and sales & marketing.
• Representation at Industry Groups - Representing industry segments at a Scottish level at the life science industry advisory group, Scottish bioregions group, BERR as well as Scottish Government and policy groups
  TIL will also represent SE at key Scottish and wider UK life science meetings and events in order to facilitate best practice and information gathering.
